The various award categories are listed below. Please read the parameters below and review the full eligibility criteria before you apply, to ensure that you
are eligible. You are welcome to apply for as many awards as you like!

THE AWARDS FOR CONSTRUCTION EXCELLENCE
Best Commercial Project
This category, broken into three (3) tiers, recognizes outstanding commercial projects, such as office buildings, shopping centers, entertainment complexes, financial centers, and even residential condominiums.
Tiers:
Best Commercial Project – Under $5 million
Best Commercial Project – $5 – $15 million
Best Commercial Project – Over $15 million
Best Industrial/Institutional Project
This category, broken into three (3) tiers, recognizes outstanding non-commercial projects, such as work done on university or medical campuses, religious buildings and/or buildings for public use (e.g., libraries
or museums), and projects in the manufacturing or industrial sectors.
Tiers:
Best Industrial/Institutional Project – Under $5 million
Best Industrial/Institutional Project – $5 - $15 million
Best Industrial/Institutional Project – Over $15 million
Best Historic Preservation Project
This award recognizes a project which has preserved or restored a historic structure and/or landscape component that is significant in American history, architecture, or culture, and was constructed more than 50
years ago. Projects entered in this category could include the restoration of original paint schemes, re-creation of damaged building elements, and/or preservation of existing elements to prevent further
deterioration.
Best Adaptive Re-Use Project
This award recognizes a project that transformed an existing building and/or space to create an entirely new use for said space. For example, projects in this category could include everything from the large-scale
rehabilitation of a historic building for a new purpose, to a smaller-scale installation of new HVAC systems in the existing framework of a historic building.
Excellence in Craftsmanship
This award is intended to recognize a project that has demonstrated the highest level of modern craftsmanship—including exceptional care in detail, utilization of new or alternative materials and technologies,
and/or the coordination of intricate building techniques. Projects entered in this category could also include craftsmanship work that utilized historic techniques, tools, and/or materials.
Best Specialty Contractor
This award is intended to recognize a sub-contractor who has done an outstanding job in the workplace. A winner may have, for example, overcome a unique challenge, utilized a new building technique, taken great
care in details, and/or ensured the success of a larger project.
Best Green Project
This new award recognizes a project that is certified or is going to be certified by a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ or other comparable rating system
(e.g. Green Globes, Living Building Challenge).
THE SAFETY EXCELLENCE AWARD
This award recognizes a firm that holds the highest level of safety standards for their employees and others with whom they work. The recipient organization will have proven to be successful in promoting safety
within its company and throughout the industry.
